About Dan, Chris, and Derin:

Dan and Chris met at Northwestern University, not because they both were wheelchair users, but because Dan was wearing a hat for the Detroit Tigers, the enemy of Chris's beloved Chicago White Sox baseball team. Friends ever since, they participated in Wheels of Change together while in college, as well as accessibility awareness events and access committees. Two years later, Derin joined the fray when she started hanging out with them and dating Dan. As the able-bodied voice in the group, she functions both as a different point of view and as the nagger who gets two men to stop watching baseball and write something. As both manual and power chair users, Dan and Chris have had a lot of experience living life with a wheelchair, and just as much living life with a positive attitude. These are our insights, experiences, advice, and secrets to how we live our lives.
